Silverlimbo issue two was lost five years ago on a hard drive and found two weeks ago online.
Editor Brian Duong actually completed the issue in 2004 but, due to financial constraints, couldn't get it to print. For the next five years the publication sat on his computer, while he became a practicing solicitor.
As a bona-fide law man, Brian had loads of money (please see the review that he wrote for TwoThousand here) but he was also "a loathed member of society" in a firm where "the people tended to be much less attractive".
In 2009 however, everything changed. The proliferation of self publishing platforms like Issuu, and friends like The Guild, meant that Brian was able to launch Silverlimbo online early May.
The issue's themes of geography and finding one's place speak from another time, yet remain ironically relevant. Featuring never-before-seen collaborations (Annie Rose Wright & Jonathan Zawada x Belle & Sebastian), Jun Tagami's photography, Dutch designer Maarten Bass and a visual palm reading of Icelandic band Mùm; Silverlimbo is 150+ pages of meticulously curated content that doesn't read dated.
The next issue is pegged for November 2009.

TwoThousand is a subcultural guide to Sydney, published daily and fired by email weekly. It is compiled by an amorphous gaggle of Sydney writers, stylists, designers and photographers who all like huddling under that big umbrella we like to call creativity. Without editorial independence TwoThousand has nothing. All editorial you read is featured because it's worth it - not because it's paid for.
