Arising from a concern that homosexuality and mediocrity were beginning to blend TSHDT? is, so they say, a look book for gay men and their admirers but you don’t have to be gay to get it. The second issue of this fine and fun-filled mag is nothing short of brilliant and is perhaps the reason that it is stocked in the hippest places from Colette (Paris) to Printed Matter (NYC).
Issue 002 is not about trends or directions and is instead about not having any particular idea to hide behind. So not having an idea is not as stupid as it sounds and instead results in a more honest and eclectic approach to publishing and culture. It is like the difference between a microscope and a kaleidescope, one gives you a closer, clearer view but it is when the image is fragmented into a billion amazing pieces that the true complexity and intrigue is revealed.
Issue 002 features indigenous Australian Christian Thompson, photographer Jason Evans, transvestite Edie Sedgwick, clown porn, popper art and is on the shelves now.
