Yesterday, Torpedo released The Bullet. But, all poo jokes aside, we've been excited about Torpedo's first all-graphic issue since Chris Flynn first put out the call for submissions.

Pen M: The Bullet, huh? Like "18 with a bullet"? Or what?
Chris Flynn: The Bullet as in a smaller version of Torpedo. I like shooting my enemies and blowing things up. I am from Belfast after all. In my last year of high school my best subjects were English Literature, History and Kneecapping.

PM: Are you worried that doing a pictures-only issue will alienate the wordy high-pants Harrys in your fan base?
CF: I'm sure all three of our current readers will be disappointed, but I've bought each of them a Penguin Classic to shut them up. At least having pictures will mean people actually open this issue and not just stare at the cover.

PM: Say there was a series called 'comic artists describe their pictures as though pitching to newspaper editors on the phone'. Could you participate?
CF: Tired of your boring face? No money for expensive botox treatments? Then why not head to Mexico, where surgeon William Shatner will provide you with a fabulous new face? It's cheap, relatively painless and effective 70% of the time. (this is Paul O'Connell's comic 'Mexican Surgery')

PM: No, seriously. What's in it? It sounds like it's going to blow the McSweeney's comics issue out of San Franciso Bay.
CF: Stanley Donwood on why try-hard writers shouldn't bother, Jeffrey Brown on how to raise your own space monkeys, Mandy Ord catching a rat, Oslo Davis on places where fighting dogs are really annoying, gay dinosaurs and how men can protect their sheds from prying eyes.

PM: Who has an ad in it?
CF: My favourite is by Crystal Laboratories, who manufacture glasses that bombard your eyes with their 'unique, dynamic vision enhancing formula', which permanently changes your brain structure and the way you see the world. Say goodbye to expensive psychiatrists and hello Mr. Blue Sky!

PM: See you Friday. Are you worried about our Writers Festival talk?
CF: Not really. Eli gets in Friday so the three of us should sit down over the weekend and have a think. I've already prepared lots of questions to keep you two talking.
PM: I am worried Eli is going to be better looking than us.
CF: *logs off*
