To be honest, the world needs another arty photography magazine featuring naked/semi naked people tramping around remote forests like it does a '90s ska punk revival. What makes Waterfall stand out from the racks of heavy stock tomes of style is the quality of photography.
The theme for the latest joint Taipei/London production is 'Rooms' and features contributions from the likes of Jennilee Marigomen, Peter Puklus and Virginia del Rio capturing their own and others space/zone/'time out area'. So you get the ubiquitous pics of messy bedrooms but also the more interesting Daniel Gebhart de Koekkoek's series of Tokyo taxi drivers asleep in their cars and Amy Stein's vivid re-creations of wild animals living alongside humans.
Waterfall is calling for submissions for their next issue. The theme: 'Pocket' or 'What is a pocket?'. So here's your chance to take photos of anything from jeans or a watch to the diseased space between the inflamed gum and the surface of a tooth - or small areas in Afghanistan that harbour Taliban resistance.
