People throw the word 'sustainability' around pretty loosely these days. It's the Get Out Of Jail Free card of the retail world. Got an ugly t-shirt? Want to charge out your ass for a canvas bag? Whack the word 'sustainable' on it and we'll slurp it up like feeble babes - so fast we may need to have a rueful little spew afterwards.
So it's refreshing to come across a store dedicated to green goods that are actually interesting, per-ty, and local (wherever possible).
By this we mean they don't just stock the first Sri Lankan basket knitted by a blind kid that they see. They fossick until they find something unique and beautiful, so you're buying because you love something, not just because you went to New York last year and feel bad about your carbon footprint and all the polystyrene burger boxes you left in your wake.

TwoThousand is a subcultural guide to Sydney, published daily and fired by email weekly. It is compiled by an amorphous gaggle of Sydney writers, stylists, designers and photographers who all like huddling under that big umbrella we like to call creativity. Without editorial independence TwoThousand has nothing. All editorial you read is featured because it's worth it - not because it's paid for.
