How much unhealthy, wholesome fun is the drive-in? Sneaking in booze, chain smoking in the car, making out in the back seat, loading up on junk food from the classic-yet-tacky 50s-style snack bar...

Blacktown Drive-in is all Sydney has left since Bass Hill closed. It is your duty as a film-lover and appreciator of all things Olde Worlde to attend and support.

A 40-minute drive lands you in a bucolic bit of rolling hills, literally surrounded by horse-inhabited farms. (NOTE: despite its name, the drive-in is technically in Prospect.) There's a nice old bar and pub at the end of the road, or you can feast on hot chips, frozen Cokes, ice cream and veggie burgers (yes!) from the snack bar inside.

Two opposing screens show double features nightly - though in the case of long films like WATCHMEN, it's one-per-night. No matter what movie you see, the drive-in is an "experience". Be there or be square.
