Spike Jonez's long awaited film, WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE, has apparently been put on ice as it is ‘too scary for kids'. This is a lot of hoooo haw. Kids frigging love darkness. Humans love darkness. It excites our instincts and makes our eyes go all crazy-like. So why do all our modern spaces have to be so airily sleek or spewingly frilly? Why does ‘public open space' have to be so damn open?

Luckily, our slightly more natural ancestors set aside Cooper Park, home of wild things, maybe dinosaurs, definitely trolls, some strange caves and engulfing magical bushland. Enter if you dare...
