Spike Jonez's long awaited film, WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE, has apparently been put on ice as it is ‘too scary for kids'. This is a lot of hoooo haw. Kids frigging love darkness. Humans love darkness. It excites our instincts and makes our eyes go all crazy-like. So why do all our modern spaces have to be so airily sleek or spewingly frilly?
