Summer's great because you get to do indoor-things outdoors, like read, knit, make babies, and watch movies.
Sydney has no shortage of outdoor cinemas this season. Here are some tips:
Mrs. Maquarie's Chair: get there early (6.30pm-ish). Upon entry you're given stickers to put on seats and "claim" them. Then you can go have dinner and come back. We arrived a half hour before showtime last year, got crummy seats, and had fruit bats shitting on us all through MARIE ANTOINETTE.
Centennial Park: They rent really comfy chairs so buy one or bring a thick doona. The crowd can get drunk and kinda loud so don't go see something arty and serious like THE BROWN BUNNY. Although it would be cool to see Vincent Gallo's penis all giant in the park at night...
Bondi: very easy and mellow, with DJs and drinks beforehand and there's not a bum seat in the house (though the screen is kinda small).
I haven't been to Starlight.
Bring bug spray!!
Ambience: Outdoor
Difficulty: Won't hurt a bit
