For years now, from an unassuming building on Elizabeth Street opposite the Waterloo skatepark and a lolly factory, Darren Knight has been repping great up-and-coming locals doing lowbrow, folk, and punk-tinged work. It's always a cool, mellow place to see new artists doing inventive stuff, and their current show is no exception.

Punkasila' is a group of Indonesian artists who wear military gear and make "combat rock", turning guitars in to machine gun sculptures, drawing comics, silk screening T-shirts and releasing their own albums. It's nice to see that though "punk rock" to a lot of us white folks is just a mall look for suburban jocks who hate their parents, for some it's still about rebellions, freewheeling fun and uninhibited creative expression. Righteous.
