You are a star. Literally. Look at you, twinkling and sparkling and shining like its nobody's business. Scientists estimate that every human body contains a teaspoonful of stellar material from the early universe. Galactic trivia like that can really blow your tiny earthling mind.

The Sydney Observatory has plenty more fast facts where that came from. In August they're offering some time travellin' good times, where punters can check out three short plays featuring tricksters Galileo, Charles Darwin, Caroline Herschel and friends before peering into the night sky through a super slick telescope.

There are also adult education courses tracking the history and physics of astronomy for those seeking some cosmic mind expansion. Its actually fascinating stuff, and there is a lot to learn about that great twinkling black sea above us. I mean, shit, you turn your back on astronomy for one minute and BOOM - Pluto isn't even a planet anymore!
