This week TwoThousand wants to salute the humble bucket - a frequently overlooked example of design gone right.
Everyone gets all lovey on the wheel or the light bulb. Electricity is great and all, but where is it when you're convulsing after Friday night Jager? Off, that's where. The bucket however, is right by your side.
As part of Sydney Design 08, the bucket takes centre stage. There's A Hole In My Bucket is a project that puts Grade-A pail (with a hole) into the hands of 20 different Sydney designers. They must then take their bucket and photograph it somewhere that they consider to be badly designed.
The aim of the endeavour is to encourage discussion about what constitutes good design - and not just within design circles. 80 buckets have been dropped at the locations listed above so that the rest of us can yap too.
Pick one up, snap it somewhere and submit your photo. You can then keep your yellow friend on hand for Friday night emergencies. Just remember to plug the hole.
Ambience: Outdoor
Difficulty: Won't hurt a bit
