If you understand that shoegaze isn't footwear-related and electro fringe ain't specific to tassels on lycra, then you could be Sound Summit's co-director for 2009!

Sound Summit runs as part of the This Is Not Art Festival, held  for five days over the October long weekend. The festival focuses on promoting independent, innovative music in Australia (last year Fabulous Diamonds, My Disco - pictured - Lucky Dragons and Pikelet played!). You'd also (most likely) get to hang out with musicians and lurk near the festival bar while wearing one of those VIP lanyards. Nice!

But realistically, you will have to work very hard. The Sound Summit Festival Director's Responsibilities include:
• Researching, curating and programming festival events (panels, workshops, performances and screenings)
• Managing event logistics
• Liaising with artists, festival partners, TINA.org, staff and volunteers
• Developing and maintaining creative and sponsorship partnerships with other national organisations
• Writing and acquitting grant applications to secure funding
